The Outfit of Infinite Possibilities: 5 Ways to Wear a Multiway Dress

Through this chic multi-way dress by Noel Inez, fashion content creator Chennie Montero gets creative in celebrating the diversity of the LGBTQ+ community.

In celebration of Pride Month, I collaborated with Cebuano fashion designer Noel Inez, who also represents the LGBTQ+ community.

We were inspired to use two of the colors in the rainbow flag with this gorgeous color block dress. Designed to be worn in multiple styles, I get creative in styling it—an homage to the LGBTQ+’s versatility and boldness, as well as fluidity.

But before that, let’s go back to the history of the rainbow flag. First designed by loud and proud drag queen Gilbert Baker in 1978, the Pride Flagan expression of joy, beauty, and power; a representation of the community being an ancient and wonderful tribe of people.

Each color has a unique meaning: Hot pink for sex (eventually omitted in 1979), red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, turquoise for magic, blue for harmony, and violet for spirit.

In this feature, we’re focusing on the colors orange and violet, both representing healing and spirit.

For anyone who is still in their closet or has bravely gotten out with pride, say who they are and what they represent, I wish you continuous healing and more strength along the journey of truly embracing who you are.

Regardless of gender, they are capable, can adapt even if always different, and stand out in the crowd—much like anyone, but more fun and vibrant.

The spirit of the LGBTQ community stands out loud and proud, fighting for rights and celebrating diversity.

Happy Pride Month!
