Women’s Month celebrates all women and all their achievements and brings awareness to issues that women encounter today, such as gender equality and reproductive rights. 

California-made nail brand Orly celebrated Women’s Month with a series of nail pampering events in major cities across the country. In Cebu, the event was held on March 8, 2023, International Women’s Day, at Nails.Glow on the third floor of Central Bloc, Cebu I.T. Park.

Orly hosted an intimate nail pampering event called She Nailed It, where guests were treated to mani-pedis and refreshments. The event highlighted Futurism, Orly’s current nail polish collection celebrating dynamic energy. The steel-toned hues are edgy yet elegant for day or night, casual or dressy. 

Orly calls these “shimmering steel-toned hues.” These are Futurism’s six gorgeous shades, with my best attempt to describe them since they have beautiful color shifts, depending on the angle and light:

• Ascension – “blue metallic,” a steely mid blue
• Urban Landscape – “green metallic,” a silvery green
• Dynamism – “neutral mauve” that is both taupe-y and muted purple
• Industrial Playground – “lilac,” with a steel-gray undertone
• Fluidity –  “gunmetal pixie shimmer featuring holographic micro glitter for a show-stopping sparkle,” no further description needed
• Forward Momentum — a frosted, futuristic take on purple

While some polishes may not apply evenly with only one coat, Futurism delivers even, buildable color: try one layer for sheer coverage or up to three thin coats for full opacity. After a week of a lot of typing, housekeeping, and other activities, the nail color is still 100% there with not a single chip.
