Bea Alfar Evardone, the Creative Publisher of g.spot and the Group Chief Operating Officer and Head of Strategy for our parent company Republiq Group of Companies (RGC), is one of this year’s recipients of the Mansmith Young Market Masters Awards.
The Young Market Masters Awards (YMMA), now in its 17th year, is the advocacy of Mansmith and Fielders, Inc., the leading training and consultancy company in the Philippines. According to its website, the YMMA seeks to honor young achievers, 35 years old and below, who excel in marketing, sales, and entrepreneurship, and whose achievements encourage and inspire young people to be innovative entrepreneurs and outstanding brand builders.
During the awarding ceremony on July 27, 2022, at the RCBC Theater in Makati, Philippines, Evardone delivered a speech that touched on the awardees’ marketing challenges, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We can truly see that the core of the campaigns and our executions will always be the consumers. Always put your consumers first. This is especially challenging because we have every reason and every right to be selfish, to think of ourselves, because we, too, are facing a pandemic,” she said.
“But because we are facing a pandemic, that is the very reason the consumers should matter more,” she continued.
The success stories of the awardees proved that when the heart is in the right place, when we continue to uphold our brand purpose, and most importantly when we put our consumers first, no crisis can put us down.
Evardone, the lone Cebuana among 14 winners, was lauded for her achievements in Geographical Marketing. Her contemporaries include Karlo Patron of Johnson and Johnson Philippines for Bactidol, Karole Santos of Jollibee and Burger King, Katrina Suarez of Johnson and Johnson for Aveeno, Jose Marteen Vega of L’Oreal Philippines for Garnier, Gabriel Chua of P&G Singapore for Head and Shoulders, Carlos Corrales of Unilever for Cream Silk, Jessica Biscocho Encarnacion of P&G Singapore for Rejoice, Nina Santos Gerodias of P&G Singapore for Pampers, Yves Jan Nacpil of McDonald’s Philippines, Avin Ong of Fredley Group of Companies for Macau Imperial Tea, Christine Tiu of Amami Jewelry, Earl Keh of Unilever RFM for Magnum, and Sheena Valencia of Primer Group of Companies’ The Travel Club.
Evardone, 29, is a graduate of Mass Communications from St. Theresa’s College of Cebu. After initially exploring the insurance industry, her marketing career began with a stint as the social media marketing strategist for Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino. She then co-founded a digital marketing company catering to local businesses, before coming on board RGC as Senior Project Manager in 2017 and rising above the ranks.
In RGC, Evardone helped develop several digital products that championed VisMin people and culture, including BAI TV, BAI Social, BAICon InFest, and g.spot, among others. BAICon InFest kickstarted the creation of the Creator and Influencer Council of the Philippines, of which she currently sits as the Founding Secretary.
Additionally, she is actively serving the Cebu Hub of The Global Shapers Community as its Curator and has taught for a semester at her Alma Mater.
Despite her many involvements and her busy schedule, which she regularly documents on her Instagram Reels, Evardone remains humbled by her achievements and often credits her successes to having a dedicated and supportive team. She is also committed to maintaining a healthy work-life balance by regularly partaking in workouts, meditating in the mornings, and being a proud member of the BTS Army.
