Love Yourself in the Comforts of Your Room

Love Yourself in the Comforts of Your Room

Sam Lincaro-Rosca writes about making your bedroom a safe and beautiful haven, not only to rest in but to also nurture self-love.

If there’s any place at home that reflects you as a person, then that’s your bedroom (aside from your kitchen, of course!) Your room is an extension of yourself and your personality. It’s where you can comfortably be just you. As for me, as an introvert, my room serves as my personal sanctuary. More than being a four-walled structure, it’s like my alter ego that reflects who I am, my aspirations, and my style.

So, how do you make your room reflect the beautiful you? Read on!

Don’t be afraid to show your true colors!

More than anywhere else, your room must be the place where you unravel your true colors as much as the saying goes. Go paint it with hues that you love, and you’ll be happier inside!

Surround yourself with positivity

With the harsh realities in the world, you’ll need more positivity now than ever. Positivity comes in different forms, may it be from a comforting sheet or pillows. Isn’t it comforting enough to know that a place like your bedroom awaits you, especially on days when you feel exhausted?

Remind yourself that you matter

There’s no one else in this world who needs to be kinder to you but yourself. So, let your room be a place of reminders that you actually matter by displaying your achievements, milestones, and small wins. These things can be your artwork and your collections.

Look back and keep your head on

Looking back keeps you grounded and humble, and your room is the perfect space for this! Hang your favorite memories from the past to make a wall gallery to accentuate the place. This simply reminds you every day how far you’ve come and how far you’ll want to go too.

Reflect better

Whether you like it or not, there are days that you feel lost, overwhelmed, confused, or in pain, and it’s nice to think and reflect for a bit. There’s no better place to do so than your room so you might as well make it a restful one—a safe space for words of affirmation for yourself. Add a mirror that inspires you to wake up, affirm yourself, and reflect better.
