Ayala Center Cebu was abuzz with excitement as Threadcycle, the renowned fashion event that promotes sustainability and circular fashion, kicked off its fifth season last May 19-21, 2023.
Over the years, Threadcycle has become a platform for individuals to sell their pre-loved items, raise funds for beneficiaries, and create awareness about the importance of responsible fashion consumption.
Pixie Dust Creations, the visionary behind Threadcycle, saw the need for a space where people could sell clothes that still held value or were barely used. Back in 2015, online selling platforms were not as relevant as they are today, and Pixie Dust seized the opportunity to create an event that would benefit both sellers and buyers while making a positive impact on society.
Through the years, Threadcycle has garnered immense support from celebrities, personalities, and influencers in Cebu who have eagerly participated by selling their used clothes. This collective effort has provided numerous opportunities to aid various causes and contribute to the betterment of society.
This year, Threadcycle aimed to build upon its past successes and continue its mission of promoting sustainable fashion. The event’s proceeds would be awarded to select garbage collectors in Cebu, providing them with additional means of livelihood and empowering them to create a positive change in their communities.
Jann Christian Bungcaras, renowned for his eco-sustainable and circular fashion designs, is at the forefront of Threadcycle’s mission. Through his eponymous label, Jann Bungcaras, he has captured the attention of the fashion world with his innovative use of reclaimed materials and his unwavering dedication to environmental advocacy.
