Do you ever get the urge to break out of the same old routine and just do something different? That’s a bit of how I am.
Makeup has given people an avenue to express themselves or devote a chunk of time within the day to just escape into the world of colors and textures, to focus on the act of making yourself look good and feel good in the way that you want to.
One thing I love about makeup is that it allows me to take a semblance of control with my own hands of the way people could perceive me. There are so many ways to alter or refine your features with makeup—the space for creativity is absolutely endless.
Doing something new once in a while helps you learn more about yourself and what you like and dislike. Here are some of the many ways you can play around:
Graphic Liner
A fun graphic liner screams confidence and prominence. Playing with a graphic liner is a fun way to dabble with different shapes and angles to complement your eyes. It will come with some practice but once you get the hang of it, you’ll be satisfied with the plethora of different looks you’ll be able to do and how it’ll make you feel!
Bold Lipstick
Who says bright red is the boldest lip color? Don’t limit yourself to what society deems as wearable! You could definitely pull off a black, green, or blue lip as long as you wear it with confidence. The best way to pair a bold lipstick color is with a more natural makeup look to perfectly balance it out. Don’t be afraid to try it out!
Bejeweled Eyes
If your eyes are your favorite feature, then this is a great way to accentuate them. A little sparkle can’t hurt nobody! It will easily elevate any look you’re going for whether it’s simple or full on glam. It also adds a magical and captivating vibe; it’ll make you feel like a princess!
Eye & Face Stickers
This is the easiest method to cheat your way into getting that “graphic liner” look while completely avoiding the challenge of drawing actual lines on your face. Stickers! They’re quick, effortless, and super effective.
Feather Brows
A good, clean, structured brow is usually the go-to especially when you’re going for those high glam looks, but feathery brows will give off that “natural” touch to every look you plan to achieve. The trick is to go for light, hair-like strokes and fill in the sparse patches in your brows instead of completely filling them in. A good brow gel will be your best friend if you want your feather brows to last all day!
