For industries as fast and often fickle as the cosmetics and skincare industry, few brands can truly stand the test of time. Elizabeth Arden is one of the few beauty brands that continues to flourish, with a legacy of over 100 years.
Elizabeth Arden has been in Cebu for as long as anyone can remember, but we’d have to shop in Manila or abroad if we wanted something aside from perfumes. This summer, the brand opened its own counter at Rustan’s The Beauty Source, Ayala Center Cebu to bring its innovative skincare and makeup closer to us. Green Tea, Red Door, and other well-loved signature fragrances continue to be available as well.
In the Philippines, Elizabeth Arden perfumes are consistent bestsellers; globally, skincare continues to reign. The innovative brand released the first-ever skincare capsule in 1990 in the spherical form of Ceramide Capsules. These measured doses of ceramide serum fortify the skin barrier, resulting in more protected skin that radiates with health.
The serum is formulated with plant-based ceramide, and the capsule is completely biodegradable and water-soluble. The capsule format makes it really easy for travel, as you can just bring as many capsules as needed without the mess of decanting or the waste of sachets.
The opening of Elizabeth Arden’s standalone counter at Rustan’s was a doubly exciting celebration as the brand also launched Advanced Ceramide Light Capsules. The potent yet lightweight serum contains phytoceramides to nourish and strengthen skin, cyclopeptides to support collagen within pore walls to improve skin texture, and hemisqualane to control excess sebum.
To help diminish lines while you sleep, the award-winning Retinol Ceramide Line Erasing Night Serum comes in pink capsules. As retinol is highly reactive and sensitive to light and air, the capsules are 76% more potent than a bottled formulation that is exposed every time it’s opened.
Beauty Enthusiast’s OG pick from Elizabeth Arden for over five years: Eight-Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick with SPF 15 moisturizes lips, relieves chapping, and restores softness after cracking, even in super drying conditions like long-haul flights or traveling to cold, windy destinations. Now also comes in sheer tinted shades.
Beauty Enthusiast’s new love from Elizabeth Arden: White Tea eau de toilette spray, “for the woman who wants to immerse herself in the moment.”
While this is not a newly released fragrance, I got to try it for the first time at Elizabeth Arden’s Beauty Soiree for the opening of the counter and the launch of Advanced Ceramide Light Capsules. The musky-woody floral blend of white tea vapors, Italian mandarin, madras wood, and musk is “exquisitely uncomplicated,” unique, and noticeable without being overbearing. Even as an EDT and not a perfume, the fragrance lasted all throughout a sultry summer afternoon soiree by the beach.
