Paint the Town Red! Here Are 5 Ways to Dress Up a Red Top for the Holiday Season

Get stylish and creative for Christmas by pairing a red top with classic pieces you may already have in your wardrobe.

It’s the Christmas season! Who doesn’t love to dress up for the occasion, whether we’re celebrating at home with family or having an intimate gathering outside with friends or colleagues?

And it feels a lot more like Christmas when we see decorations in red, don’t you think? We all have a red blouse in our closet, but I’m sure you may be looking for ways to dress it up for your holiday OOTDs!

I collaborated with Cebuana fashion designer Sheena Mae Si, who created this festive red top. Here are five outfit ideas I curated using the red top as the main piece of the whole outfit.

Christmas Decor

How about taking inspiration from the Christmas decorations you usually see? It’s usually red and green, and ’tis the season to wear this combo and get away with it! Since the top is a very vibrant red, a darker and more muted green keeps this look wearable but still festive.

Mrs. Claus

You can combine red with one of the classics — white! This outfit is inspired by Santa Claus’ costume. I completed the outfit with understated strappy flats from AH JACA.

Let’s Do Salsa

Feeling like dancing the night away? Pair your red top with a flowy skirt in black, taking inspiration from the salsa dancer emoji.  💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻

Date Night

Give your festive red top a romantic vibe by pairing it with dark blue pants. Along with dainty earrings like this pair by JAZZY, it’s just the right mix of conservative and a bit playful.

Resort Chic

If your plan this Christmas season is to relax at your favorite resort or go on a staycation, perhaps you’ll want to wear this cozy combination. Pair your red top with comfy beige linen shorts like these from, Let’s Stylize and some accessories inspired by the beach.

The color red is such a strong color so it’s challenging to mix and match, but I hope the outfits above have inspired you to dress up and get ready for your holiday festivities. Have fun!
