Thrift shopping is great in many ways. I’ll tell you why, and share with you some of the ukay-ukay spots in Cebu I usually go to.
Read until the bottom to know which one’s the best. 😉
It’s cheaper.
Don’t you just love it when you find a great item for a cheaper price than how much it’s sold in the mall? You save money by buying at a thrift store instead. Just like this Mango tweed blazer that’s only Php 250.00, but if you get this from the outlet itself, it could set you back around Php 3,000.00 to Php 4,000.00!
I bought this at a thrift store inside Raintree Mall along Mango Avenue, on the second floor just above COOEE Philippines. There are actually two shops there, both by the same owner, so you have more options where to go bargain hunting!
The thrift store on the second floor of Cocomall along Osmeña Boulevard has many branded items too.
It’s fun!
Shopping and fitting clothes altogether can be tiring, but it’s fun and rewarding especially when you find great deals and are happy with your purchase.
It sure is overwhelming, but it’s also so much fun digging into endless racks of clothes trying to look for that “treasure”. You have so many choices at Cyres RTW Shop in JRDC Building across Cocomall, still along Osmeña Boulevard and right beside BPI.
If you have the endurance and determination, try thrift shopping at the Carbon Market (this area specifically is across the University of San Jose Recolletos, beside Freedom Park). Price ranges from Php 25.00 to Php 150.00 (most expensive from my experience) and more choices, but you’ll need a lot of energy to shop here.
It saves the planet.
It reduces carbon footprint, reduces chemical pollution and keeps clothes out of landfills.
Let’s have fun shopping and saving our pockets and our planet altogether!
Okay, here’s the answer, to be honest, there’s no best spot. It’s all about timing, luck, determination and endurance to keep digging until you find a good item. Just have fun in the process.
I wish you luck on your ukay-ukay shopping. If I missed any good spot that I wasn’t able to mention here, feel free to send me a message and would love to check it out.
